From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 30, 2014 the certificated private pilot of aircraft N72446 was enroute from albertville, AL (8A0) to Oneonta, AL (20A). The pilot stated he made a normal approach and went through his check list and the landing gear light was green and no warning horn sounded.

At the point of touch down he heard a noise that was not normal and pulled up and added power to make a go around. He then looked at the strut mirror and realized the landing gear was not down and locked. At that point he rechecked the circuit breaker and it did not appear to be tripped, he then raised the gear and it did not seem to take as long as it normally does to retract and then extended the gear checked the strut mirror and green light, he landed with no further problems.

On July 23, 2014 a landing gear retract test was performed. The landing gear extended and retracted normally except the warning horn did not sound. There was continuity to the warning horn switch and the switch itself was faulty.

As the FAA filed it
