From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

July 3, 2014 a Piper PA25-235 registration N8730L was conducting application operations under 14 CFR part 137 near sugarcamp Wisconsin. The aircraft made a unscheduled landing in a potato field and came to rest nosed over then upside down. The pilot was the only occupant and was not injured. At the end of a spray swath, the pilot pulled up to make a turn for an opposite direction pass. As the aircraft was pulled up the GPS light bar flashed and the engine lost power. The pilot was able to complete the turn and land in the potato field. The aircraft did nose over and flipped on it's back side.
