From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot performs a normal start up and taxis to runway 17L at kapa. After receiving takeoff clearance, he advances the power control lever (pcl) with no increase in power. He advances it a second time and still no power. He advises the tower controller that he has to check a problem. He then takes the manual override lever (mor) out of the detent in order to have power to taxi away from the hold short line. At that instant, he saw a ball of fire coming from the engine area. He shut everything down and exits the aircraft. He did not see any fire. He then called tower that sends emergency equipment out and the the plane is towed to a hangar.
