What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
A hurricane had gone through late Saturday evening, this was Tuesday morning. The winds had been very high ever since. (Winds at ric reporting 240@11G17KT at 0954, 220@12G18KT at 1054.) The aircraft is a light sport taildragger. Just after landing wind from the left front weathervaned the aircraft into the wind, and off the left side of the runway. The aircraft went into a ditch where the right main became lodged and broke; the prop dug about three strokes through the dirt. Otherwise the aircraft appeared undamaged. No injuries.
