From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot of N562BG made a hard and fast landing on runway 3 at kdro; aircraft bounced, came down on runway losing the landing gear, prop strike and left wing damaged. The aircraft came to rest left of the runway in the grass between taxi ways A5 and A6.

The pilot of N562BG upon an extended straight-in final for runway 3 encountered turbulence on decent; straightened aircraft from a slight right crab to runway heading just before touchdown. The pilot experienced a wind from his right as he was touching down and the aircraft ballooned. The pilot applied power; the stall warning began to sound, the pilot applied full power in a go around attempt. The nose pitched up, the aircraft banked to the left and the pilot lost control and the aircraft came to a rest left of the runway in the grass between taxi ways A5 and A6. There was substantial damage to the left wing, propeller and the landing gear sheared off.
