From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While doing a "reduced power" take-off on runway 18 at 3DA, the aircraft departed the right side of the runway and impacted a hangar on the west side of the runway.

Pilot in left seat stated that he applied about half throttle to do a reduced power take-off when the aircraft went to the right. He tried to correct with left rudder but the aircraft kept going to the right. They pulled power and the aircraft skidded to the right and hit the hangar.

The CFI stated that he when the aircraft started to the right he added more power but could not overcome the right turn with left rudder. He also stated that they never raised the tail wheel off the runway during the take-off.
