From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After conducting a search mission for the local sheriff's department for a few hours the aircraft was approaching runway 14 at Mobile Downtown Airport (bfm) and was a little high for landing . The pilot flared the aircraft too quickly which caused the aircraft to float to the right of the centerline. The aircraft touched down and went into the grass striking the 6000 feet remaining marker with his right wing. The aircraft had damage to the right wing tip and right leading edge. There was no structural damage noticed during the inspection.
