From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Studentprivacy data omitted of aircraft was receiving flight instruction. Student pilot certificate was expired and CFI was the PIC. Initiated touch & gos on runway 19 at rigby, ID airport (U56). Approach & landing was normal. After takeoff, CFI stated that about 25 feet in the air a strong gust of wind deviated the aircraft from the runway and before they could correct it they hit a hangar about 300 feet to the west of the runway and came to rest behind the hangar row and against an airport security fence.
