From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted Was conducting a flight review withprivacy data omitted. privacy data omitted Was the pilot flying, occupying the front seat, and privacy data omitted was instructing from the rear seat. On the first landing while on final approach, a slip was initiated and the spoilers were deployed. On short final the slip was discontinued to ensure clearance with trees prior to the runway. Once the trees were cleared the slip was reinitiated (100' AGL). As the glider neared the ground the slip was discontinued but the spoilers remained deployed. The excessive decent rate combined with the sharp upslope of the runway resulted in a hard landing. Additionally privacy data omitted attention was divided between privacy data omitted control of the aircraft and the gliders clearance over the trees.
