What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot was doing pattern work and "touch & go's". When he lowered the landing gear for the first landing, all three of the gear indicator bulbs flashed and then remained extinguished. He then flew at altitude past the tower for visual confirmation. Tower confirmed that all three landing gear were still stowed. He then flew to the southwest to perform manual gear extension checklist. After this was completed, he then flew low approach past tower to get visual confirmation. Tower confirmed gear was down. At this point he flew back to the southwest to confirm checklist items were completed.
The approach to 34L was then flown with a normal landing on the centerline. The nosegear collapsed while traveling about 50 KTS approximately 1000' from the approach end of the runway. The pilot was not injured.
