From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot reported normal take off roll but said just after lift off, aircraft went into uncommanded right turn. Pilot was able to control aircraft enough to get back down to the runway but as soon as he touched down, the aircraft immediately made a hard right turn and departed the runway striking a snow berm as it left the runway. Pilot reported after striking the berm, the aircraft ceased it's right turn and went straight until stopping. Upon inspection it was found flight controls operated normally, the tail wheel had broken off the aircraft, and the tail wheel steering cables were broken. Tail wheel steering cable came off pulley and jammed rudder controls.
