From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While on approach to kjqf, the pilot observed a large bird dive toward the aircraft. Pilot executed a right turn in an effort to avoid the object. Bird impacted the aircraft on the left wing leading edge at approximately mid-wing resulting in an area of damage measuring approximately 1 foot deep by 2 feet across in the leading edge skin and subsequent damage (skin buckling) to the upper wing skin directly aft of the leading edge skin. Pilot landed the aircraft without incident. No injuries.
