From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N600NP, a challenger 601, serial number 3002, landed on runway 17 at Marco Island Airport (mky) and ran off the end of the runway into the grass. The first leg of the flight originated out of palm beach international airport to marathon Florida. The landing was normal on a dry runway. The aircraft departed the end of the paved runway into a compact sandy overrun area and skidded sideways to the right with the main landing gear digging into the sand, and the nose gear sheared from the aircraft which brought the aircraft to rest. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the structural area aft of the nose landing gear and the top of both wings and the right side of the forward fuselage show visual evidence of "oil canning", and distortion. One passenger sustained a broken wrist and clavicle.
