From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Monday, March 9, 2015, a PA-12, N7748H, piloted by privacy data omitted, landed on a snow covered field next to 3791 routes 5 and 20 in Canandaigua, NY (town of hopewell). While rolling out, the pilot attempted to remain on the harder packed snowmobile track, however, momentarily lost control and veered to the right into wet, loose snow. This caused the aircraft to flip over onto the left wing first, and finally came to rest on its back.
