From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the morning of 03/11/2015 at Pike county (eop) airport, Waverly, Ohio. N5501V landed with the landing gear retracted. The pilot said that the landing gear collapsed upon landing. . The pilots explanation was that the left main had collapsed followed by the right main and then the nose gear. Upon inspection there was no damage to the bottom of either wing or any damage to the trailing edge of the flaps which the pilot said were also extended. The flap hinge on the bottom of the left wing was ground down but there was no damage to the right flap hinge since the step on the right side of the fuselage kept the flap hinges from damage. In addition, the airplane has an automatic gear extension system which was de-activated in the cockpit.

There were two different areas of prop strikes on the runway. The first about halfway down the runway without any rubber marks. The prop strikes were then closer together indicating power was applied. 400 feet further down the runway were more prop strikes but to the left of the strikes were rubber marks. The airplane came to rest 150 feet from the opposite end of the 4900 ft. runway 21-3.
