From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC said she was a bit low, but on speed. She said she extended her flaps to 25 degrees and saw she was not going to land on the runway. She said she just decided to land a few feet short of the runway.

The PIC said she touched down nose wheel first and bounced. As the aircraft bounced and rolled forward to the runway, the nose wheel struck a runway end light causing damage to the nose gear assembly.

As the FAA filed it

THE PIC SAID SHE TOUCHED DOWN NOSE WHEEL FIRST AND BOUNCED. AS THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND ROLLED FORWARD TO THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE WHEEL STRUCK A RUNWAY END LIGHT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY.
