From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N3378K was taxing to the run up area prior to departure from Whiteman Airport. While entering the run-up area, ground control called and issued a transponder code. The pilot looked down to enter the code in the transponder, when he looked up he noticed an aircraft in the run-up area. The pilot braked hard to avoid hitting the other aircraft. N3378K nosed over as a result of the hard braking. The propeller and the lower engine cowl contacted the ground. Both the propeller and the engine cowl were damage by the ground contact.
