From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot reported during cruise flight, that the engine RPM could not be controlled with propeller controls and then low oil pressure indication, pilot retarded throttle, and then the engine started shaking and heard loud noise from engine and then the engine failed. Pilot declared an emergency but could not make the nearest airport and made an off airport landing with no damage to aircraft or injuries to the pilot. Pilot pulled the top engine cowling and there was a 2 inch hole in the aft left side of the engine crankcase. Waiting for an engine tear down report from the owner.
