From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 26, 2015, at 2337 CDT, a Cessna 182 bearing registration number N4645T, was enroute at 9,000 feet mean sea level (MSL) from scottsbluff, NE to lubbock, TX. Approximately 70 miles north of lubbock, TX, the engine suddenly lost power and the pilot commenced an emergency landing into a flat wheat field. Before touchdown, the pilot noticed a telephone pole and pointed the nose down to go under the wires. The aircraft touched down before the wires into a wheat field, crossed a highway, and went into another field. The aircraft nose dug into the dirt, and the left wing tip hit the ground, and the aircraft flipped over coming to rest up-side-down. The aircraft was being operated on a personal flight. Visual meterological conditions prevailed at the time, and a IFR flight plan was filed. The aircraft was substantially damaged, and the pilot was not injured. No passengers were aboard.
