From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This office responded to an incident involving a Honda aircraft company HA-420 (hondajet) on 06/11/2015 that occurred at approximately 1320 CDT at Tulsa International (ktul). This aircraft is still in the certification phase and the purpose of this flight was to obtain expanded data for crosswind component capabilities for both landings and takeoffs. Three persons were onboard no injuries.

Upon arrival at ktul they were cleared for VFR runway 26. The crew stated that the recent reported winds were 190 at 17 gusts to 22 and had they just completed 3 landings and the 4th takeoff, configuration had remained the same for all landings which was full flaps. Upon touchdown on the 4th landing touchdown was on the centerline, the aircraft initially tracked the centerline with normal directional control. After several seconds light braking was applied and the aircraft began to veer left (upwind) normal rudder corrections and differential braking seemed ineffective in steering it back to the right.

Pilot statements and investigation depicted the aircraft departing the runway to the left, across a taxiway juliet impacting marker sign with LH wing root area and main gear, through a grass area and across taxiway kilo impacting another marker sign with LH wing tip, continued through another grass area and finally stopping back on runway 26.

As the FAA filed it
