What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot stated that he performed an engine run up the day prior to the accident. He stated all engine parameters were fine. The following morning he started the aircraft and let it come up to temperature. Everything was normal with the take-off roll and climb. Approximately 300 feet the engine quit producing power. The pilot realizing he could not make back to the airfield elected to aim for a small clearing with less dense trees than the surrounding area.
