From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After making low pass at remote strip, pilot made another pass to drag tires and evaluate strip. After touchdown slightly long and very soft sand slowing a/c more than expected, go-around was initiated. Rising terrain on departure end prevented turn out of valley and was too steep to climb over so pilot set a/c down on side of rising terrain. During touchdown on slope, prop tip made contact with ground. No damage to aircraft. Due to bent prop, pilot elected to not fly out. Pilot and 1 pax recovered and aircraft slung by helo to paws.
