From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 2500FT while circling the airfield(NY50) the engine began to run rough. The ignition was selected off and the aircraft glided to a safe landing. Once on the ground it was noted that the propeller separated from the engine/aircraft. The propeller was found at a private residence located at privacy data omitted. The propeller penetrated the roof. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the event. A post incident review of the aircraft logbooks indicated that the aircraft was operated outside of annual inspection, no record entry was made in the logbook following an engine and propeller installation and the propeller was not installed by a certificated mechanic.
