From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot has just performed the wedding ceremony for his step daughter. After the wedding he said he wanted to perform a celebration fly by to liven up the party. After the third pass the aircraft struck a tree then continued to turn inverted and crash into more trees.

The initial tree stick was not a significant strike. No damage to the tree could be seen. When the plane crashed, the power was at idle and the flaps were up. There was not a post-crash fire. The pilot died at the scene.
