From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While landing N5142U at ksif on August 02, 2015, at approximately 1526 LCL, privacy data omitted encountered a thermal/gust of wind which lifted the right wing causing the aircraft to touchdown on the left Main gear off the left side of runway 31. This hard landing on the left Main caused the pilots foot to wedge against the throttle, accelerating the aircraft along the left side of runway 31 until the terrain caused the aircraft to invert. The aircraft came to a rest in a grassy area alongside runway 31 at Shiloh Airport.
