From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot had completed a solo flight and was returning to park at the flying club hangar. There was an aircraft taxiing outbound in the opposite direction on the same taxiway. In order to give extra room for the other aircraft to pass on the taxiway, the student pilot turned to the right and taxied over the smooth, hard grass and was planning on making a 90 degree left turn on to the pavement in front of the hangar. Instead of making the turn, the right wing struck the corner of the hangar about one foot from the tip. The taxiway is 30 feet wide. The distance from the centerline of the taxiway to the hangar is 67 feet.
