From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Approaching ptk, the pilot brought up the ATIS. He found it difficult to pick out the wind information due to the excessive information on the air show that was going on that day. Runway 18-36 was closed due to air show and was cleared to land on 27R. He saw the wind sock as he was crossing the fence, began to land and started to weathervane into the wind. He used up all the rudder and applied the right brake. The plane continued to turn left towards the wind, added power and engine stalled. The plane skidded off the left side of the runway, struck a runway light, sign and tipped up onto the nose.
