From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 27, 2015 at approximately 1717 hours pacific daylight time, the pilot of N919E, a special light-sport Dova Aircraft Sro, DV-1 skylark, departed San Carlos Airport (sql). The pilot stated that after takeoff and at about 50 to 75 feet altitude, the engine experienced partial power and he pitched the aircraft into a nose down configuration. The pilot determined that there was not enough runaway to land so he continued over the end of the runway and impacted into a field.
