From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Flight was from columbus, IN (bak) to Gary, IN (gyy) to pick up cargo to be delivered. Pilot stated that it was his custom to fly to a final approach fix when executing a visual approach. He flew to garie (the faf for the ILS 30 approach). At this point, he lowered the gear and approach flaps. He stated that he increased power, as normal, to offset the usual drag of gear and flaps. He stated that he verified that the gear was down. On short final, he stated that the 3 green indication didn't look right. He was in the process of turning off the position lights to see if the gear lights would brighten. At this point one of the props contacted the runway. The pilot closed the throttles and pulled the mixtures to cutoff.
