From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During aircraft pushback for flight (dl flight 4997) in day, the pushback was complete and the aircraft parking brake was set. During the disconnect process, an envoy airlines baggage tug and cart struck the captain?s wing leading edge and winglet.

The wing leading edge, wingtip, and winglet were damaged, but no breach of the fuel tank occurred. The envoy tug driver experienced minor abrasions (reported by envoy). The tug leaked fuel on the ramp that was contained by ARFF support at the airport and the ramp area was shut-down.

All passengers de-planed without incident via main cabin door and air stairs.

No crewmembers or passengers were injured.
