From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot conducting first solo balloon flight. Airman elected to land in a field near a major highway. After touchdown the balloon's envelope deflated and draped over a small 2 strand service power line leading to a nearby home. The Prosper police and fire responded and the local power company dispatched a crew to shutoff the power. A recovery crew using a small crane lifted the envelope off of the power line and power was restored. No damage to the balloon or the power line was sustained. No injury.
