From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 8:30 am MDT, 10/8/15, Albuquerque, NM. Kubicek A-350 (N106KB) was on landing approach to a field when the pilot had to take the a/c higher due to power lines. This caused the balloon to come in on a steeper angle and make a hard landing. 14 people on board, 1 injury. A female passenger suffered a broken leg from impact with husband's knee during landing. At the time the woman thought it was just bruised. First aid was rendered at the scene. She later went to a doctor who x-rayed leg, discovering the break.
