From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was inbound for runway 27 at 57D. Turned to left base applied 10% flaps and then turned left to final. Full flaps applied and left wing began to drop pilot applied full right aileron and full right rudder with no effect. Engine power was added and nose began to rise with left wing continuing to drop, power was reduced and the aircraft drifted left of runway 27 west of runway 36. The aircraft contacted the ground left wing tip first, the second contact was the prop which detached from the aircraft, third contact was the nose gear which was shear due to impact, the fourth impact was the main landing gear which also detached from the aircraft, and the aircraft came to rest facing west with the left wing detached and coming to rest on aircraft left side parallel to the fuselage. The pilot shut off fuel valves and pulled condition lever and aircraft ran for approx. 15 minutes. Winds were reported to be 25 knts w/gusts to 29 knts (kmtc 7 mile south east of 57D) @ 250 pilot stated approached speed was aprox 65 mph.
