From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was on a ferry flight to branson Missouri and departed from paine field Everett, WA on the first leg to ogden Utah. Pilot stated that the runup of both engines was normal with no indications of a problem. Carburetor / manifold temperatures were in normal ranges. The active runway in use was 34 left. The aircraft began the take off roll, accelerated normally, and climbed to approximately 150 feet AGL when the right engine lost power from an undetermined cause. Pilot had begun the retract of the main gear and then reversed the gear to select the down position. Aircraft contacted the runway prior to the right main gear fully extending and locking in the down position. Damage to the right gear drag brace when collapsing and then breakingcaused it to contact a fuel line in the wheel well causing a minor fuel spill. No post crash fire. No injuries. Right wing tip underside was scuffed from contact with the runway and right side propeller damaged. No other damage noted.
