What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
After touchdown and during rollout after a normal approach to runway 24 at Fullerton airport in gusty wind conditions, the aircraft, N99Y, entered a ground loop condition, veered to the right causing the left lower wing tip to contact the runway. Pilot was unable to correct with rudder/aileron inputs and brakes were applied. The right main wheel skidded as evidence of a skid mark on the runway. The aircraft exited the runway and onto the unpaved dirt area. Upon contact with the dirt, the left main gear collapsed under the fuselage, the left lower wing bent back and the aircraft came to rest in the dirt with the tail wheel still contacting the runway.
