From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10 jan 16 in the morning the aircraft departed southport, NC (ksut) and at around 1240 pm the pilot attempted to land at mt. Pleasant regional airport (klro) on rwy 17. The pilot reports that after touchdown and on rollout his aircraft encountered a gust of wind that picked up his left wing causing him to veer to the right off of the runway onto the hard ground on the border of the runway and then into a muddy area where his airplane nose wheel got stuck in the mud causing the aircraft to tip forward. When the occupants attempted to exit the aircraft the fuselage righted itself back on the landing gear. After inspecting the aircraft it was noted that one of three propeller blades was bent, the right hand wing tip and wheel fairings were damaged. There were no injuries to the pilot and passenger. The damage to the aircraft was minor and this was identified as an incident.
