From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC - enroute from dfw... Turbulence forecast had been for light to moderate turbulence. At first instance of chop, seatbelt sign was turned on and flight attendants were told to be seated. Requested lower altitude for smoother ride, granted by ATC and then began descent. Once air was smoother, fa's were advised they could get up but seat belt sign was left on for passengers. Encountered clear air turbulence and experience two/three jolts. Fa's contacted flight deck indicating possible crew and passenger injuries. Decision made to divert to mco.

Fa - once told by PIC they could get up, the four fa's assembled in the rear galley area. Passengers saw that fa's were up, and some headed to the lavatories. Encountered clear air turblence and all fa's experienced falling, (ended up sitting on the floor and not able to get to jumpseat). Second fa fell into jumpseat headrest and then to floor. Third fa fell on to second fa. Third fa was attemting to get onto jumpseat and lost balance momentarily falling to floor. Passenger riding in fa seat (in last row) tried to assist by hloding the fa on the floor. Another passenger exiting lavatory was told to sit on the floor. Once air was again smooth, the (floor) passenger said he was ok and returned to his seat. He later declined follow-up EMT medical attention. "Injured" fa's were checked by EMT but declined any additional follow-up. After landing, two fa's continued their assignment (worked next flight) and two requested to be removed from duty and were dead heading to lga.

Maintenance completed heavy turbulence inspection. No discrepancies were noted. Aircraft was returned to service.

As the FAA filed it
