From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While performing touch & go training operations, the private pilot, left seat, throttled up following a landing. The CFI pilot, right seat, saw a large bird on the runway in front of the airplane. The left seat pilot pulled back on the control wheel and the bird impacted the right wing tip during rotation. The impact caused separation of the fiberglass wing tip. The right pilot took control and aborted the take-off. Full braking was applied bringing the aircraft to a full stop on the runway. The deceased bird was found on the runway within a few feet of the wing tip and determined to be a juvenile bald eagle. No injuries were sustained but additional minor damaged was found on the outboard edge of the right aileron.
