From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student is certified rotorcraft pilot, student airplane pilot. Student pilot departed kucp at 1650 for klnn. Student was solo, but had been in contact with instructor; both had concerns about wind conditions. Klnn ATIS at time of arrival reported winds 170 degrees at 6 knots with gusts to 14 knots. Student made a normal landing on runway 23. During the low speed rollout, the student reported "the nose of the aircraft jumped up and the aircraft porpoised down the runway". During the oscillations the aircraft propeller struck the runway. There were no injuries. The aircraft received moderate damage to the propeller, and minor damage to the nose landing gear.
