What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On approach to landing (4S1) the aircraft's altitude was low enough for the nose wheel to strike a fence four feet high and 300 feet from the threshold of runway 16. The pilot stated a down draft caused him to stike the fence. The nose gear casting broke off the assembly after landing and the aircraft flipped over, causing damage to vertical fin, fuselage and wings.
