From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

This flight start at Miami Executive Airport (ktmb) and climbed to 1,500 feet direct to homestead general aviation airport (X51). After practicing some trafic pattern flight doing take off and landings, the flight departed the pattern and flew southwest approx 10 miles. They performed eights on pylons. Afterwards chandels were performed. At 3000 feet the instructor demonstrated steep turns, he then passed the controls to the student and when the student completed his before landing checklist he advanced the prop and throttle to the proper setting, the engine failed to respond. The instructor then took control of the airplane, called Miami Executive tower and declared an emergency. He then prepared the airplane for a landing on a hard surface road. The airplane came to rest on the forward cowling in approx 3 feet of water from the dranage canael running paralell to the road. The pilot and student pilot egressed onto the right wing of the airplane and steeped out onto the road with no injuries.
