What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft was departing from Akron Canton airport runway 19 with a southeast crosswind reported at 9 knots. At approximately 60 mph just before takeoff speed, the pilot stated the aircraft veered hard to the left. He stated he pulled back the power and applied full right rudder but could not maintain runway heading. As the aircraft departed the runway it struck a taxiway marker box which collapsed the nose landing gear and where the first evidence of a prop strike occurred. The aircraft then proceeded to strike several runway lights and a PAPI light as it cut through the grass and crossed a taxiway. At some point both main gears collapsed as the aircraft skidded sideways and came to rest with the nose of the aircraft facing west. Aircraft sustained substantial damage to both leading edges and numerous gouges and punctures to the fuselage skins.
