From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 19, 2016 at approximately 1825 the aircraft departed the departure end of runway 36 at Freeway Airport (W00). The pilot stated that while making a landing his student landed the aircraft long, more than halfway down the runway, and fast. After touching down the student slammed on the brakes causing the aircraft to veer to the side of the runway and skid. At that time the pilot (instructor) took control of the aircraft. The pilot secured the engine while the aircraft was still in motion but was unable to stop the aircraft before the end of the runway. The aircraft then rolled down a hill and into a fence. Minor damaged was sustained to the spinner, engine cowling, and propeller.
