From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff from runway 21 at approximately 375 feet the aircraft engine began to run rough and lose power. Student pilot declared an emergency and turned 180 degrees to land. Student pilot landed on runway 3 with not enough runway to land. The aircraft left the end of runway 3, struck the curb of the road and came to rest in the dirt on the other side of the airport service drive at the east end of the field. The landing gear was torn off of the aircraft and significant damage to the aircraft fuselage and wing spars.
