From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Monday June 20, 2016 at approximately 17:58, N127WD , a merlin Swearingen SA226-T(b), landed gear up on runway 19 while landing at republic airport in Farmingdale, NY. Airport operations met the aircraft where it came to rest at the intersections of runways 14 and 19. No injuries were reported. The flight was being conducted under 14 CFR part 91. The pilot and owner of the aircraft was conducting training in order for the SIC to become qualified in the aircraft. Both pilots were interviewed shortly after the incident and both pilots indicated that the first indication they were landing gear up was in the landing flare when they both heard a distinctive ?thwat, thwat, thwat? Sound of the propeller tips striking the runway. The pilot decided to commit to the landing and moved the propeller levers to full reverse, fuel pumps off, and fuel shutoff valves to the off position. The master was also turned off and both occupants exited the aircraft without further incident.
