From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of N15LF received taxi instructions and stated he understood the instructions. The pilot was flying a tail wheeled aircraft with 31 inch bush tires and was worried about the aircraft tail swinging while taxiing because winds at kroc were gusting to 22 knots. According to the pilot, it was difficult seeing over the nose of the aircraft and he turned on what looked like his taxi way but was in fact a service vehicle access road. While taxiing, the aircrafts right aileron spade struck a sign. The pilot called ATC to inform them of the situation. ATC told the pilot to stay where he was and crash rescue was called. The pilot eventually taxied back to the ramp and inspected the aircraft. The aircraft had a bent aileron spade which the pilot bent back into shape. After inspecting the aircraft the pilot departed the airport.
