From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While flying from compton airport to Long Beach airport on 6/22/16 at about 1:30 pm the pilot said the entire avionics stack went out and would not come back on. He then started to smell smoke in the cockpit and saw smoke coming out of the stack in the center console of the instrument panel. The master switch was turned off and the landing gear would not come down. The pilot extended the landing gear by using the emergency extension system. Upon landing on runway 25L at Long Beach airport the landing gear collapsed. The pilot could not determine if he had 3 green down and locked lights in the cockpit.
