From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After landing and engine shut down, attempt to park on shoreline failed due to higher than anticipated winds pushed the aircraft out away from shore before the pilot was able to secure the aircraft. Engine start attempt resulted in an engine fire. Extinguisher was used but went dry before the fire was completely out, flight service was notified due to the proximity of the aircraft on the lake (middle). Airport maintenance personell launched a boat with a fire extinguisher to finish putting out the fire and pulled the aircraft to shore.
