From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot reports that while performing banner tow operations, he went to drop the banner and found that it was not properly hooked, (hung). This prevented the banner from being jettisoned. As part of their normal procedures, he travelled to wwd so as to land on the runway and have a ground crew meet him to unhook the banner. Just prior to touch down, slightly above stall speed, the pilot reports that the banner got caught up on something in the field prior to the runway which pulled the aircraft down causing a firm landing. The right main gear supports were bent and the propeller struck the runway. The aircraft was able to exit the runway and stopped on the grass between a taxiway and the runway.
