From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

45 Minutes prior to landing the PIC directed the cabin crew call to ?clean up and sit down? Due to anticipated turbulence and made a pa announcement for the initial descent into iah. About 15 minutes after this call the aircraft hit moderate turbulence. A cabin crewmember in the aft galley suffered a broken right ankle.

The injured cabin crewmember was in the aft galley cleaning up a spill in preparation to take her jumpseat. As she was moving towards her jumpseat the turbulence occurred. The turbulence caused her to fall backwards into the service carts where she struck her head. She also struck her foot resulting in a broken bone. She could not stand and was assisted to her jumpseat.

At the time of the incident the aircraft was in IMC deviating around weather. The aircraft came out of IMC to find a buildup in front of them that was not painted on the wx radar screen and they could not deviate around it, penetrating the buildup.

There were no reports of turbulence ahead of the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
